safety firstDuring these last three months, the members of Local 812 have been tested as never before.  Make no mistake, it was the members of our great union that have kept our companies operating during the pandemic.  We take our duties as essential workers seriously, but we will not allow unnecessary risks to the health and safety of our membership.

With the recent civil unrest that has developed because of the tragic and unfortunate event that occurred in Minneapolis, the Union has informed management that Local 812 members will not be required to go through areas where active protests are taking place.

Just as our shop stewards, officers and staff continue to ensure that members have appropriate PPE and that our employers establish proper safety protocols, we will not permit our members to enter areas of potential civil unrest.

If any member feels unsafe because their job duties require them to go through an area where there is an active demonstration taking place, stop and contact your supervisor - and if necessary union representative. We will immediately contact company management.

Throughout these difficult times, Local 812’s top priority is your safety.
